Want to get in shape this year? Try one of our new top 10 crazes
By Susie Mesure and Amanda Greenwood

"Fitness experts have tipped anything that gets results fast, building on from last year's craze for Power Plating, which uses a vibrating machine to achieve results in super-quick time. Nick Hudson, Virgin Active's national fitness manager, said fitness in 2010 needs to be "accessible, enjoyable and fast". He added: "Exercise in general will be less about thinking and more about enjoyment. Effective exercise is no longer about complicated, technical workouts on individual muscles."
"Although our top 10 list includes some group classes, exercising at home is becoming increasingly popular, with nearly a fifth of gym members cancelling their memberships in the past 12 months according to the market research analysts Mintel. Michael Oliver, senior leisure analyst at Mintel, said: "The price of home fitness equipment has fallen and other innovations, have also encouraged consumers to bring exercise back indoors."

"Indo Board"
If wobble boards just don't do it for you, then try investing in an Indo Board. Imagine surfing indoors on a bit of wood balanced on a separate tube and you'll get the gist. One for the wannabe surfers and skaters out there, and anyone looking for a novel cross-trainer as you will need to use so many different muscles just to stay upright.

after plenty of food and drink and a shortage of workout time. To help you out this season we are providing a quick and easy way to get a great full body workout without the need to go to the local gym or use any weights.

Indo Board Pushups – 10 – 15 reps Use either the roller or IndoFLO cushion under the deck and concentrate on form and power, take 2 seconds to go down and one second to push up).

Indo Board Air Squats - 10 – 15 reps Use either the roller or IndoFLO cushion under the deck and slow the movement down by concentrating on your form and do not let the deck touch the floor during your movement. If using the IndoFLO cushion under the deck move your feet so that your toes are on the leading edge of the deck (see picture). This will enable you to drive from your heels and maintain proper form through the movement.

Repeat this for 5 to 10 rounds with no rest between movements but about 30-60 seconds rest between each round. If you can get 10 rounds of this done you will see why so many people swear by functional body weight exercises.

Love, Peace, and Prosperity to you, and may you all be healthy and happy this year and beyond!

We welcome the NEW design..the "Indo Rocker board"
Advanced Indo Board riders will definitely want to try the NEW Indo Rocker Board. This board features full bottom rocker throughout the length of the deck. This results in a super loose feel that is perfect for pulling off advanced tricks. The new design does not require the traditional stops on the bottom of the board since the board naturally slows down as the roller nears the ends of the deck. This design is perfect for skateboarders and surfers that want to practice pulling off big spin type tricks.

The best part is if you currently own an Indo Original you only need to purchase the Indo Rocker Board deck as it works on your existing Indo Original roller. The Indo Rocker Boards are available in brown, black or blue.

Price
£99.95 (deck & roller)
£59.95 (deck only)
Includes a Free demo DVD

Indo board big hit for PE kids

CHILDREN from Rosary Primary School in Haverstock Hill have discovered a radical new way of keeping fit and having fun in their PE sessions.
They have been putting their balance and co-ordination skills to the ultimate test after being introduced to the Indo board in a new campaign called Bringing the Ocean into Schools.
Originally designed to help keen surfers improve their balance before going into the water, the multi-functional fitness board consists of a wooden deck placed upon a specially moulded plastic roller or cushion.
The board has been adopted by Sports Coaches into Schools (SCIS), who have made it their mission to get more youngsters involved in sports.
The activity has proved a big hit with pupils at Rosary School, who have taken to the Indo board like a surfer to water.
Ellie Themistokleous, 10, said: “I think it’s really good, schools are missing out on so much fun.
“I feel sad for the schools who haven’t had the chance to try it out.”
Classmate Kai Ovie, 11, added: “The Indo board has really improved my balance and co-ordination skills, which have helped make me better at other sports like football.”
SCIS liaison officer Rob Betts has invited all schools across Camden and Islington to sign up for an Indo board taster session, and try something new to motivate the kids.
“This is a really fun option for schools and gives children something new to look forward to within their PE sessions.
“It’s proving a big hit and we’re inviting any schools that are interested to get in touch to arrange a trial session.”

On 23 September 2009, a date that will be remembered as “Big Wednesday” by the indofitness.co.uk crew, director Adriano Roldan and master trainer Jase Fern launched the newly formed indofitness.co.uk at Leisure Industry Week (LIW) at the NEC in Birmingham.  Jase gave a demonstration of what can be done using the Indo Board as a workout tool to the onlooking crowd and a successful day was complimented by master trainer Kevin Hubble appearing at the same time on the “This Morning” program on ITV.

Indofitness.co.uk will concentrate on three separate areas:
IndoActive will continue the good work started in North Dorset taking “IndoBoarding” to schools teaching the children balance skills as well as challenging them on the way.
IndoFitness will be taking “IndoBoarding” to gyms for group sessions and coming shortly, will be offering accredited certification to fitness instructors and personal trainers.
IndoEvents will cover a range of events from corporate training days and club activities all the way through to children’s parties.

We at indofitness.co.uk would like to thank the Escape Fitness crew led by Wendy for their support at LIW and Julia Lane from (North Dorset School Partnership) and her team at Shaftesbury school for their help and guidance which has taken indofitness.co.uk from a dream to a reality.
